MOA
NEWS
Hello everyone
Wow, what a great event in Lunenburg County in September 2017. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each, and every, participant for attending the NS 55+ Games and Congratulate all, of the medal winners!
Having received many enquiries, regarding how one might participate at the 2018 Canada Games, in Saint John, New Brunswick I would like to share the following information.
The opportunity for Nova Scotians to participate at the Senior Games in Saint John is based on the following criteria: To have participated in the 2017 Nova Scotia 55+ Games in Lunenburg County. Then, in order of merit, Gold medal winners will be given first choice to go to the Canada Games, followed by Silver medal winners second choice, Bronze medal winners third choice, those who participated in the 2017 Nova Scotia Games but did not medal fourth choice, and finally if our quota is still not full then open to any Nova Scotia resident to apply. This practice of selection has always been followed in advancing to the Canada Senior Games.
Right now the Host Committee, in Saint John is diligently working on completing the ‘registration’ package, identifying hotels assigned to each province, opening and closing ceremonies, as well as dotting the ‘I’s and crossing the ‘t’s’ on all pertinent details to ensure a great event.
At this point the registration for Nova Scotians to attend the ‘Games’ will likely commence in early March, with a final deadline in May 2018.
I do hope this information is helpful and all interested participants are encouraged to follow the Nova Scotia 55+ Game Society website for updates on when, how and who to contact regarding the ‘Registration’ process for the 2018 Games.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at brian.r@bellaliant.net or call 902 523-5590.
