2020 Canada 55+ Games Update: COVID-19
The COVID-19 outbreak is a major concern for the Canadian Senior Games Association regarding looking ahead to the 2020 Games. Thus, the following message was released by the CSGA in conjunction with the Kamloops Host Committee Monday, March 16, 2020.
“We know that the growing concern around COVID-19 has everyone feeling uneasy, especially as we face more changes to our daily routines and future.
As the situation around the COVID-19 continues to evolve and with the World Health Organization having declared the outbreak a pandemic, I want you to know that we have been closely monitoring the situation and the impacts to our August, 2020 Games in Kamloops.
At this point in time, our Games continue to be scheduled. Contact is being maintained with the City of Kamloops and the Kamloops Host Committee in the form of discussions and updates on the situation. We will keep you informed of any changes that occur.
The health and safety of our participants and their families is of major concern to us. Therefore, we will continue to follow the guidance and advice from the Public Health Agencies, the Government of Canada, the Provincial Ministry of Health officials.”
