WELCOME to the Nova Scotia 55+ Games Website
Fall is now certainly in the air and what a beautiful time of year to be active and enjoy the outdoors! The leaves are changing to vibrant colours, the air is fresh and a little crisp, overall, it is really quite invigorating. There is lots of time to play a few more rounds of golf, go for long walks or runs, visit a farm market or apple orchard, and enjoy time outside with family and friends.
So, what is happening in the world of the NS 55+ Games Society? Well, for starters we are meeting regularly with our 2017 Games Host, Lunenburg County, as they lay the groundwork for the next games September 14 – 16, 2017. We know they have booked venues and are also busy recruiting event ‘Marshals’. If this may be something of interest to you and you are interested in volunteering to help out, please check our website regularly for updates and information on just how to do that.
Coming up, is our Annual General Meeting November 7, 2016 at 2 PM which will be held at the Bedford Royal Canadian Legion. All NS 55+ members are invited to attend. Hope to see you there!
Have you had an opportunity recently to check out our website? We are currently looking at ways to create a fresh look and “yes” we are working on that. We have been posting upcoming events that might be of interest to our membership or seniors at large i.e. Valley Senior Games in Clare 26-28 Oct 2016 (Since Cancelled), Whole Lives Holiday Festival November 26, 2016, etc.
If you or your organization are about to host or conduct an event and would like to have it posted on our website, please let us know. We welcome the opportunity to share information of interest to 55+ Seniors across the province. All you have to do is email me a brief description of what it is you are planning on doing, when, where, time and cost (if any) and we will post it for you. For updates and event information, ‘Google’ NS 55+ Games and when our site comes up ‘Click’ on the box for NEWS/2017/Region/etc.
Finally, I would like to remind everyone to stay active, fit, enjoy every day and spread the word about the “Games”.
