Questions about the society

What are all these acronyms?

  • NS 55+ Games Society or NS 55+ GS - Nova Scotia 55+ Games Society

  • NS 55+ Games - Our Provincial Games, held biannually (odd years)

  • Canada Senior Games or Canada Games - The National Games, held biannually (even years)

  • CSGA or Canada 55+ Society - Canada Senior Games Association or the Canada 55+ Games Society

What does the NS 55+ Society do?

  • We promote fun, fitness, and friends amongst Nova Scotians that are 55 and older! We also govern the NS 55+ Games which chooses who will represent Nova Scotia at the Canada Seniors’ Games.

How do I get involved?

  • There are many different ways you can get involved:

    • If you want to get involved with your region, please reach out to them directly or to us and we can get you connected

    • If you want to become a member please fill out the form on the Join the Society page and we will follow up to arrange payment for your membership fee

    • If you want to get involved with Provincial Games as a volunteer or participant, please contact the Host Games Committee

    • If you want to sit on the Board of Directors, please use the Contact Us form

    • If you want to host the Provincial Games in the future, please email us at presns55plus@gmail.com

Questions About Teams

Who can I have on my team?

  • You can have anyone 55+ on your team as long as they are from the region that you represent. For example, the Central team can include folks from Halifax and Bedford.

What if I cannot find a team/partner?

How do I qualify for the 2022 CSGA in Kamloops (the National Games)?

  • By qualifying in the 2021 Yarmouth Games on the specified level of achievement necessary. For example, some sports are gold only and some include gold and silver etc. It is sport dependent.
